Shopping Today: QFC and Walgreens

Walgreens: $0.13 spent, $9.02 saved

My $3 RR from the huggies deal a few weeks ago was going to expire today and since I didn't see anything super amazing- I decided to use it on something practical. I bought 3 cans of Hunt's Tomato Sauce at $0.39 each (after in-ad coupon) and 4 boxes chocolate pudding for $1 (after in-ad coupon). I decided to check out Valentines day clearance and was thrilled to see chocolate sweethearts- those are some of my favorites! 8 boxes cost only $0.96.

QFC: $6.59 spent, $8.89 saved

I was really just running in to use the last of my $1 Fresh Express coupons from the Albertsons booklet on the $1 salad (yes, that means it's free). Then, I saw cheesecake marked down to $6.59 and I have very little willpower when it comes to delicious looking New York Cheese Cakes so my quick freebie turned into a not-so-free trip and honestly- that's fine by me! I gave a couple of salad coupons away because they do expire on the 28th.

March is Frozen food month

Just wanted to give you all a heads up/reminder that March is "Frozen Food Month" so now is a good time to make sure all your frozen food coupons are clipped and organized (or order some from ebay/your favorite clipping service). I have yet to order anything for this promo, although I did order a few Post coupons yesterday (based purely on rumor and speculation... but I doubt I'm the only one thinking about this).

Safeway is gearing up for what should be an awesome spend $25, get $10 off your next order catalina deal! You can get a sneak peek of that ad courtesy of SlickCate @ SD.

Albertsons is also currently running a Chill Deal- in the buy 10 items, get a $10 catalina good on your next order format. I haven't seen a lot of talk about this deal or participating items (maybe it'll be in next week's ad?) but it might be worth checking out in store.

The Children's Place: free shipping and 15% off

The Children's Place put up a code good for free shipping on their Facebook page recently, but did you know you can also combine it with a 15% off coupon? Safeway: we needed milk

Well... milk and more instant oatmeal. The cold we had for weeks resulted in my oatmeal stockpile (which should have been enough for a year or so) getting significantly depleted. $0.99 a box is certainly not the best deal ever, but it's a price I'm willing to pay- so I picked up a few boxes.

$12.58 spent, $39.90 saved (76%)

I used my last two free half gallon chocolate milk wyb milk coupons. The beans were nothing special except that I needed them for dinner the other night and had forgotten to pre-soak beans. I also had an awesome $3 off milk when you buy 5 Quaker products (I don't have any idea where it came from, a lovely fellow couponer sent that and a ton of quaker coupons my way last week) which helped cut down the overall cost.

FM: my clearance finds!

I mentioned Fred Meyer was doing their extra 70% off clearance apparel this week, so I thought I'd share a few of my finds with you (you still have til Saturday!). I have two boys (one 2.5 years and one soon-to-be 1 year old) so I'm always looking at clearance clothes. We do shop thrift stores as well (especially for jeans) but I'd say most of our clothing purchases are things I pick up year-round on clearance. Of course, I did get a little bit lucky at Fred Meyer this week:

I know this isn't a ton of clothing, but I was looking for something Birthday for the youngest to wear and was happy to find this cute onsie in the right size for only $1.80! They had matching bibs (both girl and boy) but they were the same price as the onsie so I skipped it. I also found a pair of Christmas pj's for the older boy for only $2.40- perfect because we do Christmas jammie photos every year (alone with our boys and with the other babies on the husbands family's side). I skipped buying any for the younger because I already have some. The Super hero dog pj's were $4.50, a little steep comparatively but pajamas the oldest will wear so rarely go on clearance and he's going to LOVE these. We wandered a bit as well, and noticed that they're taking an additional 50% off toys so I grabbed a pack of 6 mini Tonka trucks for $3 that I can split into Christmas stockings later this year.
